OUR HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY
History
As a family owned and operated business, Hayward Photography began 20 years ago in the basement of the Hayward’s home. The growth has been steady and strong over the years, with two Massachusetts offices located in Milton and Chatham. Every year we increase our new school partnerships, yet we remain dedicated to delivering a very high quality service to all school partners.
We photograph children in preschool, public and private schools throughout New England and all over the eastern United States. We are proud of our reputation as the industry leader in outdoor school photography. Outdoor photos are a unique option with Hayward Photography. We “reinvented” school portraiture by pioneering the special use of the environment and we continue to set new standards every year.
Parents, faculty and principals have been very pleased with the quality of our portraiture and the efficiency of our services. The magic of our success is directly linked to our school partners, who spread the word about the quality of our portraits and our dedication to customer service.
All of our programs and services may be customized and remain flexible. We are eager to custom design a complete photo package for your school and we hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve your families.
Philosophy
At Hayward Photography we believe it is a privilege to photograph our clients and to record forever a time in their life that is memorable. Our unobtrusive, photojournalistic style allows our clients to be totally at ease, even during formal portrait sittings. We make use of the environment wherever possible, while maintaining our primary focus of bringing out the personality and emotions of our clients.

It gives me great pleasure to write about how much we look forward to the team from Hayward Photography coming each fall, to take photographs of our enrolled children and their siblings.
Bright Horizon at Orange and Hayward Photography have been doing business for close to ten years, and every single year the parents have adored their child’s photographs.
Before arriving at the Center, the team at Hayward Photography helps to pre-plan and schedule the day, to determine how many photographers are needed in order to expedite the busy day.
Every year Hayward Photography has managed to take the children’s’ photographs outside. Having the natural elements, such as the fall foliage, is unique and visually stunning compared to the usual school photograph-type packet.
As a bonus the teachers receive a free 5x7 portrait photograph of themselves and 50% off their own child’s photographic packet.
Hayward Photography offers assorted packet choices for parents to choose from. There is always a timely turn around time so that parents are not left waiting to receive their much anticipated photographs. The team at Hayward Photography personally takes care of any parent who is not 100% satisfied – so that it does not add to the Director’s to do list.
The photographs of the children are gorgeous and never fail to make the parents smile. Everett and his team of professional photographers are always prepared and very personable. Hayward Photography makes school picture day as good as it gets.

Fall Portraits
The “Fall Portrait” advantage is that we use the beauty of the fall foliage as a stunning natural backdrop for your portraits. Another advantage of fall photography is the ability to use the staff and children’s images in everyday school management process. For example, students and staff ID’s with photographs offer increased security for the full school year. Including a child’s photo within school records in your database or your paper filing system can create a more accurate outcome in your record keeping system. Hayward Photography is proud to share up to 25% of sales generated from fall portrait with our school partners.
Spring Portraits
The “Spring Portrait” advantage is that we use the beauty of the spring flowers and fresh new growth as a stunning natural backdrop for your portraits. The children tend to be more settled into the school year in the springtime and we can often capture a more natural and relaxed portrait at this time of year. Spring portraits can also be designed to capture a more casual setting and can make great gift options for the many spring holidays. Hayward Photography is proud to share up to 30% of sales generated from spring portrait with our school partners.
Group/Class Portraits
Our unique outdoor photography style is also incorporated into our group/class portraits. We have used the front entry to the school, a school playground, a local or adjacent public or private park. Each school is different so we coordinate with each school and plan in advance, so we can select the best possible locations.
Sibling Portraits
Providing sibling photography at the time of school portraits is an easy way to save your parents time and money. Many families cannot find the time to set up professional portraits on the busy evening or weekends. It can also be a great cost savings by providing them with the option to purchase one portrait of all their children.
Senior Portraits
Private Sittings
Senior studio sittings are available for personal and yearbook photos. An hour long sitting allows time for clothing changes, the option of indoor and outdoor photos, and a variety of poses. Black and white, color and various colorized options are available to create the perfect yearbook photo! Your senior will have an opportunity to view all photos here in our studio to ensure that he/she is pleased with the results. Please contact our office for more information on our senior portrait specials.
Select School Program
We can coordinate with your school to provide exclusive photography for senior photos needed for lasting memories and yearbook portraits. Your students can have multiple choices to meet their busy schedules. They can book a private sitting directly with us or we can set up our studio in your designated location, inside or out, offering multiple dates and times. The school will receive all digital images for easy transfer to your yearbook company.
School Service Items
Many schools request copies of the student and staff images we capture. Some schools want to merge digital portraits into school databases or want to include a photo print in each child’s personal file. Other schools want the increased security of photo ID’s for staff and students. The options for each school are endless and we can customize any of your school service photography needs.
Fundraising/Special Event
Photography and Fundraising join together to create a great way to add extra school funds and to provide a great service to your parents. Just a few of our success stories include, panoramic group shots, family photo day, professional candid shots at a special event, and holiday cards. This is just a small list of the customized fund raising events that have provided extra money to schools without added stress. Busy families love our special photography events and often participate because they know it benefits their child’s school and it saves them planning time and money.
