
Q: What should I expect my pictures to look like?
The majority of our portraits are taken outdoors, using nature as the backdrop. We will photograph indoors when the weather is severely inclement. Our professional photographers collaborate with the school to locate a safe and picturesque spot on campus to photograph the children. We find that the outdoor environment is the best backdrop for the quality of the portrait and the children seem to be most natural and relaxed in this setting.

Q: What should my child wear to Photo Day?
Our photography looks best when your child wears solid colors, primary or pastels. We suggest avoiding geometric prints, clothing with large logos and extremely bright prints. They tend to distract from the child being photographed.

Q: Can I have both of my children photographed together?
Siblings may be photographed together as an additional package option. This should be scheduled with the school office and the picture will be taken before or after the regular school shoot. A sibling includes children who attend the school and younger pre-school siblings only.

Q: How do I order my child’s pictures?
The school decides in advance what plan is best for the school.
If your School selected Pre-Pay Plan
Prior to Picture Day your child will bring home an order form. Simply complete the form and enclose the payment for the selected package option. Your child will return this to school and your order will be delivered to the photographer during Picture Day. If you did not return the form by Picture Day you can mail the order form & payment directly to Hayward Photography. Additional order forms may be available at the school office. Please read your order form for specific details.
If your school selected Proof Plan
You will receive several photo proofs of your child and an order form. Simply select the pose you like, complete the order form, including payment and return to the school. If you miss the deadline you can mail the order form and payment directly to Hayward Photography. Additional order forms may be available at the school office. Q: What if I miss the order deadline?
We photograph everyone during Picture Day, whether or not an order has been placed. If you miss the deadline and you still wish to purchase a package, you can mail your order form and payment directly to us. Late orders may not be distributed at the same time as the other students' orders. Late orders may be delivered to the school or mailed directly to your home approximately 4 weeks after the day we receive your order request.

Q: How long does it take to process my picture order?
Our portrait packages will be delivered to schools for distribution to students approximately 4-6 weeks from the date they were photographed.

Q: What if my child missed the original Photo Day?
If your child’s school has requested to schedule a Re-Take Day, your child can be photographed then, without any additional cost to you. This day is usually scheduled to take place between 4-6 weeks after the original picture day. Check with your school office about a re-take day and inform them that you are interested in having your child photographed.

Q: What if I am unhappy with my child’s pictures?
We stand behind our portraits 100%. Our re-take and return rate are far below the industry standard. This speaks volumes about our dedication to quality.
A school can decide to host a Retake Day. This is usually scheduled to take place between 4-6 weeks after the original picture day. If you choose to have your child's portrait retaken, please communicate with your child’s teacher with your desire to participate in a Retake Day. Your original, undamaged package must be returned to the photographer during Retake Day in order for us to produce a new portrait package. If a class/group photo was also taken, do not return this, as they will not be retaken or reprinted.
Should you still be unhappy with the package a full refund will be provided if you mail the entire, undamaged package to our office within 60 days of receipt. If parents have any questions or concerns regarding their child’s order, they should contact Hayward Photography at (617) 698-1840.

Q: Can I order more portraits after I receive my picture order?
Reorders can be placed using the order form included on the back of the original packaging envelope or by contacting the school office for a new form. If this is unavailable, please contact Hayward Photography at (617) 698-1840.

No. Hayward Photography's images are protected under copyright law and are not to be reproduced without written permission.
